✨ ENCHANTMENT: A Deep Connection Series ✨ A 3-week exploration of the art of creating "this is my favorite dance ever" moments. "How can I make a dance good?" A fine question, but the core of what we're seeking is in the question: "How can I become so enchanted by this moment that goodness naturally spills out of me?" When total strangers find me the next day with messages like: "I so very enjoyed our dance... It felt like a hugging of souls." "This was the best dance of my whole festival." "I felt so truly seen. And understood." "That was the best dance experience I've ever had in my life. You taught me how to dance." Every time someone says something like this, I'm a little shocked and deeply honored because I know how many incredible dancers they've shared dances with. I want these dances at home. I want them right here in our little Honolulu community. So this series is my attempt to create more of them. I remember The heartbreakingly, achingly beautiful single microcosmic weight shift that brought me to sobbing tears. I remember The huge traveling stepping multiple-spin forever dances that made me so happy I could cry. I remember The dancer who kept trying to end the dance by saying thank you, but the hug was too good, and somehow we both just couldn't let go. So we kept dancing. And kept dancing. Such a micro gooey connected yum. Just present. Not looking for anything else but that hug in that moment. Massagey. Meditative. Joyful. Always deeply connective.
