Brazilian Zouk in France and Paris

🌟 A pioneer: how it all started

The French Brazilian Zouk scene wouldn’t be what it is today withoutAlex de Carvalho, the renowned dancer who helped bring Brazilian Zouk to Europe.

Together with Sabrina, his longtime teammate, DJ, and instructor, they’ve spent over a decade training teachers, mentoring dancers, and building the foundations of the French community.

Over the years, the scene has flourished with the creation of national events like Aupa Zouk Festival in Hendaye, Zouktown in Lyon, and MAC Festival in Paris, gathering dancers from all over Europe.

And when summer arrives, many cities take it outside: expect sunset socials on rooftops, beaches, and open-air plazas. It’s the perfect mix of French lifestyle and Zouk energy!

📍 French cities you can dance in

Brazilian Zouk is currently being danced in cities like:

Paris, Lyon, Montpellier, Marseille, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Rennes, Bayonne, Hendaye, Valence, Nice and... La Réunion (that one is in the Indian Ocean though!).

You’ll find local classes, socials, and workshops nearly every week.
